I just wanted to give you all an update on me ...
The surgery was supposed to be 1 to 1-1/2 hours long but it was 5 hours due to massive adhesions in my pelvis. I was covered in them, organs were fused together, my right ovary & tube was fused to my bladder & bowel (probably from last July when the ovarian cyst(s) ruptured), they had to reconstruct my bladder (I don't know to what extent that's just what they told me), they removed the uterus after much trouble getting down to it, and they found a terrible "surprise": a SOFTBALL-sized cyst/tumor on my left ovary which obviously wasn't detectible by sonograms or x-rays. (I think they should have listened to ME and done an MRI and then they would've seen it but oh well.) They had to remove my left ovary and fallopian tube due to the massive cyst/tumor. I say "cyst/tumor" because they don't even know what or which it is. They said they don't think it is cancer but they can't be sure (??) so they sent it to pathology. They also tightened up all of my abdominal muscles like a tummy tuck, but since I was in there so long they didn't want to keep me under any longer so they weren't able to remove the fat & skin from my lower abdomen which would have made it a complete abdominoplasty and which has also been a reason for a lot of pain -- they said the tissues MUST come off for my health.
I go for my follow-up visit on Monday the 30th and they will have the pathology back at that time and they will also give me the referral to the Plastic Surgeon to do the mini tummy tuck. I am not sure what else they will tell me -- probably go back over what all they had to do during surgery.
Please keep me in your prayers -- I still cannot stand up straight and cannot walk more than from the bed or recliner to the restroom/shower and back. Yesterday was a very painful day but I hope today will be better.
I have to go for now -- I'm really not supposed to be up in this chair (so you didn't see me here! LOL!).
Love you all!!
